After much thought and careful consideration we regretfully have the following announcement to make:
Due to the rapid deterioration of a prepared track and the lack of additional time it requires to make the necessary repairs before track preparation can begin for the following week, we will no longer be able to allow racing style quads on the track.
However, we will allow smaller quads up to 250cc four stroke or 80cc two stroke on the track during the small bike practice sessions as long as their speed and skill matches those riders on the small bikes.

Happy Track will be closed for the summer. We finished our season with a race this last Saturday.
We had a great battle in the second moto of the 125 junior class between Tyler Patterson (Suz) and Andrew Martinez (Kaw). You would have thought you were watching a battle between RC and Bubba. Patterson got the holeshot with Martinez in tow. For five laps the two riders were side by side in every turn, they would brake slide and pivot in the bowl turns in tandum, it was very exciting to watch. On the fifth lap Martinez' front end slid out in a soft corner and Patterson went on to win the overall with a 2-1 over Martinez 1-2. In the 250 junior class local favorite Joey Essury got the holeshot in both motos and won with ease. In the 80 begainer class Travis Sherman got the holeshot in the first moto but washed out in the first turn, he got up started his bike and worked his way back up to first by the end of the race, Travis went 1-1 for the overall.
Thanks to the four riders that came from San Diego. Thanks to the large group of 50/65cc bikes that came from Calexico, Ca. And thanks to the rest of those that came from out of town to check us out.
You will see me on the river every saturday this summer. See you in the fall when it cools down.

You couldn't have asked for better track conditions today at Happy Track. We only got four hours of light rain yesterday so the track was just right. The sun was shining all day today, in fact I think my face is a little burned.
Today was our first race and it was promoted by COP. They did a great job. Since the rider turn out was so low I think everyone left with something. Our local Kawi/Suzuki shop had $2,400.00 worth of gift certificates available to anyone that placed on a Kawi/Suzuki.
It is a shame that we had such a small turnout for all the effort that is being put into this series on the part of COP and the participating tracks and sponsors. Hope to see you at the next race.

Our race dates will be Feb. 19th and May 25th. We will keep track of the results of our local riders at the two Happy Track rounds and will have some awards at the end of the two rounds. We will update as we get more information. The IMSA membership required for our practice days will not be required for our two race rounds.
